Bi Fugao (1923-)
Bi Fugao, a native of Shangshui County, Henan Province, was born in a medical family in September, 1923. He practised medicine at the age of sixteen, and opened his own clinic when he was twenty. In 1949, he worked in the United Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic. He was sent to Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine for further training in 1958, and then was transferred to the Provincial Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With a great interest in acupuncture, he has improved the use of Huatuojiaji points in his clinical practice therefore improving the curative effects for treatment of arachoid membrane paralysis, sequelae of windstroke, and Wei syndrome. He discovered the new point "Huanzhongshang Xue," which is very effective for prolapse of the uterus, ptosis of the anus, nocturnal enuresis and seminal emission. He was awarded the First Scientific and Technological Prize issued by. Henan Province. He was director and deputy research fellow of the Research Office of Meridians and Collaterals of Henan Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, vice president of Henan Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, vice president of Zhengzhou Society of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and he is a member of the Henan Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
