Cheng Menxue (1902-1972)

Cheng Menxue (1902-1 972): Native of Wuyuan Jiangxi Province. Specialist in traditional Chinese medicine. He learned medicine from Ding Ganren. He practised medicine and taught traditional Chinese medicine for many years. After liberation, Dean of Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine; President of the Shanghai Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Representative at the Second and Third National People’s Congress; Member of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Public Health. He was a specialist in the theory of Evil Influences (Shanghan) and the theory of Wen-disease, and was esteemed for his rich clinical experience and devotion to teaching traditional Chinese medicine.
