Tian Conghuo (1927-)


Tian Conghuo, a native of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province, was born in 1927. After he graduated from the Chinese Medical College in 1951, he acknowledged Zhu Ilan and Gao Fengtong as his masters in the Acupuncture Experimental Institute of the Ministry of Public Health in 1952. He became a teacher of the South-China Training Course for Teachers of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Wuhan in 1953. Tian Conghuo, a native of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province, was born in 1927. After he graduated from the Chinese Medical College in 1951, he acknowledged Zhu Lian and Gao Fengtong as his masters in the Acupuncture Experimental Institute of the Ministry of Public Health in 1952. He became a teacher of the South-China Training Course for Teachers of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Wuhan in 1953. He has been engaged in acupuncture clinical practice, teaching and research for more than thirty years, emphasizing ‘the combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, herbs and massage in his clinical practice. The adhesive plaster for relieving asthma made by Tian and his colleagues achieved the research prize of the Ministry of Public Health. He has published more than thirty treatises, among which some of them were published in foreign countries. His works include Experiences in Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Essentials of Chinese Moxibustion. Now he is a research fellow in the Second Clinical Institute of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a member and vice-secretary-general of the Standing Committee of China Society of Acupuncture. The resume of Professor Tian Conghuo. Male, born in August 23th 1930 Physician-in-charge. He was a professor of former international acupuncture training center, a researcher in research institute, technical committee, and postgraduate candidate teacher. He was graduated from China Medical College in 1951. Since 1951, he began to be specially engaged in acupuncture treatment, scientific research and teaching. He had got a position of assistant director in acupuncture and research institute of traditional Chinese medicine academy, and a professor in Beijing traditional training center. Now he is an editorial committee of Chinese acupuncture and modern age cooperation of Chinese and western medicine. Besides, he is a senior consultant of America Traditional Healthy Academic Society. For 40 years, he has dealt with the cooperation of Chinese and western treatment, and obtains a lot of clinical experiences. He is good at treating allergic illness with acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Like asthma, urticaria and allergic enteritis, as well as stomach enteropathy, hemiplegia and difficult illness. He has publicized over 40 acupuncture articles at home or abroad. The research is about winter sickness Xia Zhi, asthma treatment. He also got a technical achievement price of Chinese medical department. He once published a lot of books on acupuncture. Since 50’s, by expert status, he had ever been to North Korea, France, Romania, Switzerland, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Italy for medical service and teaching. What’s more, he had taken part in the international acupuncture meetings for many times. There are many postgraduates learned from him. Le 1er groupe traité par moxibustion aux points 14VG et 11GI et le 2ème groupe sert de témoin. L’auteur fait une étude comparative des 2 groupes sur la baisse de la température en 48 heures, la relation entre moxibustion et antibiotiques. De même une étude sur 42 lapins a été entreprise, la fièvre a été induite par injection de turpentine en sous-cutanée.

 This article explained about moxibustion in Neijing, summarized, systematized and discussed the law which are included 8 parts as follows : (1) Reinforcing defficiency and reducing excessiveness according to differentiation. (2) Regulate Qi of channels and do moxibustion where it would be needed. (3) Warm channels and remove cold. (4) Moxibustion would be for Xi syndroms. (5)Superficial moxibustion is used to the cases with channels. (6) Moxibustion on Five Shu points is used to cases with Zan Fu organs. (7) Moxibustion could be done for cold and wind due to pathological cold and wind factors. (8) Moxibustion could be done for Bi syndrome. The author considers that these principle and law would be guided for doctors in clinic, should be discussed in future.

 Methods : Seventy cases of asthma of different syndrome types were treated with needle-embedding therapy and their Pulmonary ventilation were Observed- Results : The total effective rate was 75.72%, among them, the effective fective rate was 85. 42 % for excess syndrome and 54. 54 % for deficiency syndrome with a better therapeutic effect for excess syndrome (P<0.01), and pulmonary ventilation had an uniform improvement with the therapeutic effect. Conclusion : Needle-embedding therapy has a better therapeutic effect for asthma with excess .
