Wang Pinshan (1920-)
Dr. Wang Pinshan was born in a family well-known for traditional Chinese medicine in Haicheng County, Liaoning Province in December, 1920. From his childhood, he began to learn traditional Chinese medicine from his father and to learn acupuncture from Dr. Liu Rentang. He has been engaged in clinical and teaching work for several decades and had a book Simplified Manual for Acupuncture and more than twenty academic papers published. With modern scientific technology, he has discov­ered the acoustic information transmitted along the meridians, confirming the objective existence of the running course of the twelve regular meridians on the body surface and the four extremities. His work Studies on the Propagated Lines of Fourteen Meridians was awarded the second prize by the Ministry of Public Health. He is now an associate professor and deputy chief doctor of the Acupuncture Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
