Zheng Zhuoren (1904-1984)
After several years’ apprenticeship with Cheng Dan’an, an established traditional practitioner in the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Zheng Zhuoren (1904-1984), a native of Pujiang County, Zhejiang Province, learned his knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine from his teacher. He devoted his whole life to the study of traditional medical literature and acupuncture therapy, and was known as a specialist of traditional internal medicine with a profound knowledge of Miraculous Pivot. His works included Miraculous Pivot in the Vernacular, Acupuncture Prose Interspersed with Verse, etc. He was the deputy-director of the China Acupuncture Society, special research fellow of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and senior consultant of the Hong Kong Acupuncture Association.
