Zhong Yueqi (1900-1981)
Zhong Yueqi (1900-1981) was a native of Anqiu County, Shandong Province. He graduated from Wuxi Chinese Acupuncture School run by the famous acupuncturist Cheng Dan’an in 1937. From 1946 to 1956, he practised medicine in Qingdao. In 1956, he attended Shandong Research Class on Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1957, he was appointed as a teacher working in the Acupuncture Teaching and Research Section in Shandong School for Advanced Studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1960, he was transferred to Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and worked in the Acupuncture Teaching and Research Section. He spent all his, life teaching, in clinical practice and researching ancient classics of acupuncture. He helped compile the books Explanation on Plain Questions of Internal Classics with Modern Chinese, Check and Translation of Systematic Classic of Acupuncture, Explanation on Miraculous Pivot, Simple Acupuncture, Charts of Acupuncture Meridians and Points, etc. He also published some academic articles such as Discussion on Selection of Acupuncture Points and Divergence in Proportional Measurement.
