Wang Xuetai (1925-2008)
Dr. Wang Xuetai was born at Yixian County, Liaoning Province in 1925. He was admitted in Jinzhou Medical College in 1944. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the College merged with Shenyang Medical College where he continued his education. He was appointed as a physiology and anatomy teacher in the North China Medical School in October of 1948. Since then, he has researched acupuncture teaching and clinical work, as well as studied the literature, history and future of traditional Chinese medicine. He was one of the founders of the Acupuncture Training Course for postgraduates, the Acupuncture College, and the Journal of Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion. He was also active in setting up the World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies. He is now a standing member of the All-China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and deputy director of the China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion.
